According to Corona News India: The Indian Air Force, Army and Navy, all three services joined hands to express their solidarity and gratitude towards the corona warriors who are engaging at the front lines, day and night to battle against the COVID-19 pandemic within the country.
On Friday, General Bipin Rawat, Chief of Defence Staff, with all three service heads, announced the “gesture of special gratitude”, which will be carried out by the Air Force conducting fly-pasts across the country. Another “gesture of special gratitude” are going to be helicopters showering petals on hospitals of various cities.
The defence forces have made arrangements for conducting Aerial fly-pasts, lit-up ships, musical tributes by army bands and shower of flower petals on several hospitals across the country.
Details about the event
The ceremony will begin with the wreath-laying to be conducted in Police Memorial Delhi and in several other cities.
It will be followed by fly-pasts by various C-130 jet, covering a sizeable number of cities and towns across the country, beginning from 10 AM.
Flower petals to be showered on hospitals
Flower petals are going to be dropped by IAF helicopters on selected hospitals in multiple cities including Mumbai, Jaipur, Lucknow, Varanasi, Bhopal, Ranchi, Raipur, Kolkata, Patna, Itanagar and Shillong, said IAF officials.
Fighter aircraft formations comprising Sukhoi-30 MKI, MiG-29 and Jaguar, are going to be flying over Rajpath, Delhi’s Centrepiece Boulevard, and can hover over the town for around half-an-hour from 10 AM.
“In addition to this, a no. of C-130 fighter jets will be covering the whole Delhi and NCR region. The aircraft are will be flying at an approximate height of 500 to 1000m, keeping the aerospace safety in mind, especially in respect of the bird activity”, an IAF official said.
In Delhi, IAF helicopters are scheduled to shower flower petals on variety of hospitals including AIIMS, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, Max Hospital and many other hospitals.
This is the third major display of gratitude to our fellow medical workers and policemen, after the PM Modi’s proposal to Indians to clap for the COVID-19 warriors from their balconies, followed by people switching their lights off and lighting up divas and candles on his request.
As per the most recent corona news, the announcement of the extension of lockdown would have been a disappointment for a few people.
